In my dreams, I am a runner but in reality the exercise gene is missing from my DNA. Instead, I walk. I just park my car a little further away from wherever I am headed and I walk. Whether I am headed into a store, going to work, or attending an event, I use my walking time to clear my head, focus on a solution to an issue, pray about something or even to just enjoy the beautiful day.
A good friend of mine does this also and she told me today that sometimes she sings hymns while she walks.
Sunlight does wonders for your mind and body and it’s much more fun to get it naturally than by taking a vitamin.
I’ll even walk in the rain – if I do not have anywhere important to go – and it feels amazing. My son loves when we walk through the rain and watching his joy brings me happiness beyond belief.
I know that life does not always offer us perfect days and sometimes walking can even be too much when you feel weighed down by a problem but give it a try…I think you will be pleased by the results.
