As a busy mom who works full-time and has a two hour commute I understand that finding time to work on yourself sometimes seems impossible. I’d like to share with you one thing I do at least 5 days a week. I listen to motivational books on my phone.
The library offers FREE books via an app on my cellphone – I use One Click Digital – which you can download and use for free. You simply put in your library card information, search for a book, and download it onto your smartphone. I use one headphone to listen to the book and keep the other headphone out to listen to my surroundings (so I can hear if a car suddenly stops behind me or next to me or if there are emergency vehicles coming.) And yes, I have an old car but I LOVE my Silver 🙂
Here is a list of 5 of my favorite self-improvement books to get you started:
Zero Limits by Dr. Joe Vitale
Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks
You Are A Badass by Jen Sicero
Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy
Another great option to use is Amazon. They offer a program called “Kindle Unlimited” for $9.99 a month which lets you download as many as 10 books at a time to read. A lot of these books also offer an audio download for free or a small fee. It’s not free but it’s reasonable and I love it. They also have a Kindle app you can download and use on your phone.
Audible is affiliated with Amazon but I think their prices are ridiculous 🙂
There is another site called www.learnoutloud.com which also offers free audio books.
My point is, you have options – use that long commute, long wait in line to pick up your kids or wait at the doctors office to bring JOY into your life by growing yourself.
