Our son projectile vomited onto our black lab a few weeks ago and she smelled terrible. I would have given her a bath but it has been so cold and I didn’t want her to get sick. I decided to try and clean her with baby wipes but she still smelled less than perfect.
Enter in this wonderful recipe I created for a dry dog shampoo. It’s easy and can be placed right in a mason jar.
- 2 cups of flour, baby powder or cornstarch
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 2-6 drops of essential oil
- Mix all ingredients together and store in a sealed container such as a mason jar.
I used Cinnamon Bark to give her a winter scent and gave her a dry brush first. Then I worked the mix into her fur with my fingers. She thought I was giving her an awesome rubdown, lol. Then I brushed it out and she was done, smelling as fresh as a Cinnamon Stick!
I only use Young Living Essential Oils on our pets because of their purity. If you decide to use another brand please only put this shampoo on a small area of your pet to make sure there are no issues.
